two people. with so much focus now on gun laws, what kinds of guns are used, whether they're legal, what do you know at this point? >> reporter: well, we have been asking around as to whether or not this was a hand gun that was legally owned, legally purchased, what the background is on that gun. obviously there are agents that will handle that part of the investigation. i haven't been able to confirm anything on that end just yet. however, hand guns in the state of texas, you are legally allowed to carry a hand gun if you have the proper license and that sort of thing. however, just because you have that license doesn't mean you can carry guns on to a school campus. campuses and churches, there's a laundry list of places where you can't carry guns and school campuses are one of those. so as the sheriff here said in what i think was a school campus official said it's impossible to check the thousands and thousands of students that come through here, but in theory, this is not a place where you should have had a gun. >> all right, thank you very much. ed continues to work that story

but the search for that second suspect is the main concern at this hour and i'm told by a law enforcement source that one of the main focuses that they are looking at right now, law enforcement agencies there on the ground is a wooded area next to the campus of lone star college. they believe that's where this second suspect might have fled into so they are paying a great deal of attention in that wooded area and i believe that creates a whole level of terrain and law enforcement officials on the ground must deal with. so at this hour that is what they appear to be focusing on to find that second suspect. >> and we're getting more information, ed, some of it obviously very consistent with what you're hearing, this coming in from the harris county sheriff's media relations department. let me just update our viewers on what they are saying. as i said, a lot of it consistent with what your reporting shows. they reiterate one suspect is in custody, three people taken into custody. they continue to interview all witnesses to gain as much witnesses at the campus library and five age

new laws to outlaw abortion. one of the most powerful anti-abortion voices is the catholic church which firmly believes life begins at conception. one catholic hospital in colorado finds itself on the opposite side of this debate. it's an amazing story. "outfront" with this investigation. >> there wasn't one person that went into that e.r. there were three. >> reporter: jeremy's wife laurie, seven months pregnant with his twin boys. it was new year's day 2006. laurie was vomiting and couldn't breathe. he rushed her to st. thomas moore hospital in canyon city, colorado. >> laurie looked and up her head went down on her chest. >> reporter: in the lobby of the emergency room she went into full cardiac arrest from a pulmonary embolism. laurie stodgehill, 31 years old, died. and so did her 28-week-along unborn twins. >> i didn't even get to hold them. i have an autopsy picture. that's all i've got. >> reporter: stodgehill sued the hospital and its owner, catholic health initiatives, which operates nearly 80 hospitals in 14 states. he filed the wrongful death suit on behalf of his wife
